Boracay used to be an isolated island in Aklan. Only a small number of people are enticed to visit this island but since it has now become a phenomenal hit, getting to Boracay is now as easy as it gets. Before, few airline companies offer flights to Boracay but now, a number of companies even have Boracay Tour packages that come hand in hand with the plane ticket. The prices are also now more affordable making a trip to Boracay very much hassle-free.

Airline companies have flights to Caticlan Airport, found in Panay Island. Some of these airline companies include Asian Spirit, SEAIR and Corporate Air. From the airport, boat rides await the tourists to get them on the island proper. The First Lady is a private ferry boat that has a seating capacity of 49 people. It is stationed at the Caticlan jetty Port and is exclusive to Fairways and Bluewater Boracay Resort Club members. For those coming from Iloilo and are uncomfortable of flying, there are readily available buses with three schedules everyday, a mini-van from Kalibo or a taxi to Caticlan.

When on the island itself, one may found himself enjoying motor-tricycles, pedicabs, mountain bikes, quadbikes and motorbikes. These transportation facilities can be rented and are found on the beachfront. The tricycle rides along the main road have a rate of 7 pesos in the morning. The fare is doubled at night but is still negotiable depending on the destination. To explore more of the island, one may find motor boats and sailing paraws more useful than the others. However, many tourists say that the best way to explore the island is still through the traditional walk.

While in Boracay, the accommodations come handy. The island itself has several beach resorts that one can stay in. One of these is the Jony’s Beach Resort. It is located along the main road between Willy’s Rock and Station 1. The family-run resort is one of the longest running family establishments in the island. The Department of Tourism has ranked this resort as “AA”. The place offers several types of rooms to suit every budget. They have the Superior, Deluxe, Superior Deluxe, Family Room, La Perla Suite and the La Concha Suite. With a variety of room choices, Jony’s Resort assures a memorable Boracay experience.

Kikko’s Boracay Beach Resort, on the other hand, is located in Sinagpa Hills, Balabag. It has 28 deluxe rooms aptly priced to suit people on a tight budget. Its restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Aside from the accommodation, they also have ferry and shuttle services, wi fi internet access and massage service. All their rooms have cable tv and the telephones are equipped with IDD and NDD access for easier communication.

Aside from these two, the Boracay Terraces Resort is another pleasurable place located in the northern end of the island. It has 6 family rooms, 5 twin rooms and 4 double rooms. Its Taj Resto is one of Boracay’s most favorite restaurants. It is both romantic and fun where one can either dine while a pianist plays in the background or choose to dine under the stars.

Even though it is a little bit expensive, the service and the amenities are sure to be impeccable. Friendly staff, huge rooms and beautiful scenery await tourists.

And of course, one will surely not have a hard time in finding the Boracay restaurant to suit his taste. Looking for pancakes, sandwiches, salads? Then, one might as well head on to Real Coffee.

Palawan is a well-known island in the Philippines located in the Southern Tagalog region. Puerto Princesa City is its capital and it is the largest Philippine province in terms of land area. It stretches from Mindoro up to Borneo while it is in between the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. It is a group of islands with the largest being the Palawan Island.

In 2007, it received citation as the only Philippine Island featured in the National Geographic’s Best Island Destinations in the East and Southeast Asia region also according to the magazine; it is the 13th best island in the world.

The diversity of landscapes and seascapes make the province more interesting than the others. Two of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites can be found in Palawan. These two are the Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park and the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.

The Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park is where thousands of marine life species can be found. Many of these species are considered endangered. Some of the animals are manta rays, the lionfish, clownfish and even sharks. The marine park is established to nourish the reefs which serve as the nursing homes for the marine life. Its name “Tubbataha” is coined from two Samal words which literally mean “a long reef exposed at low tide”. It is considered to be the number one rival of the Great Barrier Reef. It is also a bird sanctuary where several species gather for the breeding season.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is in the St. Paul mountain range. It is where various stalactite formations and stalagmites can be found. On December 4, 1999, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site List.
Palawan is truly an extraordinary island that is both modern and environmental. The place is so serene that it is the favorite site of many lovers and family outings. A good number of activities and surprises are also in store for travelers.

When traveling to the Philippines, one may be awed at the number of tourist spots the country is proud of. One of its finest tourist spots is the province of Bohol. Bohol is located in the Central Visayas Region. It is the 10th largest island in the country. This oval-shaped island is surrounded by 73 other smaller islands. It is blessed to have a mild weather all year round and is rarely affected by typhoons.

Several major tourist attractions can be found in this province. Of those tourist destinations, the most popular would probably be the Chocolate Hills in Carmen, Bohol. It has been crowned as one of the 7 Wonders of the World and is again vying for the same title this year. The magnificent hills are composed of 1,268 perfectly-shaped cone hills. It is named Chocolate Hills because the green grass that covers it turns to brown during dry season. Proof that it is a major symbol is its existence in the provincial flag. It is currently the 3rd National Geological Monument in the country and is also being proposed to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Today, many tourist facilities are built within the view of the hills.

Other tourist attractions in Bohol include the Panglao Island covered with white sand, the Bilar Forest which is a man-made Mahogany forest, the Bohol Beach Club and the Loboc River and the Mg-Aso falls.

These sites prove that Bohol is more than just the home of the Chocolate Hills. Moreover, it is a paradise within a paradise. The numerous beautiful spots in Bohol truly prove that nature has blessed the Philippines with the finest sceneries the world is yet to discover.
