Getting to Boracay

Boracay used to be an isolated island in Aklan. Only a small number of people are enticed to visit this island but since it has now become a phenomenal hit, getting to Boracay is now as easy as it gets. Before, few airline companies offer flights to Boracay but now, a number of companies even have Boracay Tour packages that come hand in hand with the plane ticket. The prices are also now more affordable making a trip to Boracay very much hassle-free.

Airline companies have flights to Caticlan Airport, found in Panay Island. Some of these airline companies include Asian Spirit, SEAIR and Corporate Air. From the airport, boat rides await the tourists to get them on the island proper. The First Lady is a private ferry boat that has a seating capacity of 49 people. It is stationed at the Caticlan jetty Port and is exclusive to Fairways and Bluewater Boracay Resort Club members. For those coming from Iloilo and are uncomfortable of flying, there are readily available buses with three schedules everyday, a mini-van from Kalibo or a taxi to Caticlan.

When on the island itself, one may found himself enjoying motor-tricycles, pedicabs, mountain bikes, quadbikes and motorbikes. These transportation facilities can be rented and are found on the beachfront. The tricycle rides along the main road have a rate of 7 pesos in the morning. The fare is doubled at night but is still negotiable depending on the destination. To explore more of the island, one may find motor boats and sailing paraws more useful than the others. However, many tourists say that the best way to explore the island is still through the traditional walk.
